I did it Traci! And you thought I wouldn't...

Of course, considering my blogging history of about 1 every six months, I can see why all of my friends would think I would not complete such a task. However, I am answering the tag all the same. So, as Traci puts it...

Here are the rules: I have to answer the following questions with one word answers and one word only! Then I must pass it on to seven others. (I'm ignoring the second rule and leaving it up to the readers to accept or decline the challenge...)

So yes, one word answers will be difficult, but very enigmatic and fun as well. So, here we go...

Remember, if you're reading this, you have to do it too!

1. Where is your cell phone? Purse
2. Where is your significant other? Napping
3. Your hair color? Brown

Halloween Fun!

We spent some of Halloween night down on Center Street in Provo with the Hartmans. We went trick or treating shop to shop with about 5 bazillion other families and their children. The poor shop owners didn't plan for this one! They all kept running out of candy and looking very forlorn. However, we had fun wandering down the streets. The atmosphere was so beautiful and the weather was absolutely gorgeous! Hooray for Halloween!!!

Arizona with Angie!

I went to Arizona in June for a Let's Play Music training. My sister-in-law Angie volunteered to come along for the ride - which made the whole trip really fun! Anyway, the party animals that we are, we decided to go to the Desert Botanical Gardens one night because everyone knows that's where the action is. We met all sorts of cool lizards and hummingbirds and cacti. Yeah, we're cool - be jealous. Tee hee.

Bennett turned 5!!!

So, I took a trip to Arizona for some more training on Let's Play Music and when I left, Bennett was 4 and when I came home... he was 5! sniff sniff. This is the first birthday I've ever missed in my family. I was very sad. He didn't seem to care much, but I was sad! But we had a cake for him the night before I left and he actually had about 3 parties instead of one so he loved it! Not to mention the fact that he spent his birthday at Grandma's house! He asked for a snake cake and he decorated it himself so voila! We had fun! The other day he asked me if I knew his whole name. When I said, "Bennett Victor Hartley" he said, "No! It's Batboy Victor Hartley!" At least he kept the Victor,eh? Tee hee. I guess now that he's 5 he can change his name!

Brynn is 3!!

Happy Birthday Brynn!! Our sweet little Brynn is three years old today! That makes her a really big baby since she's still my baby! Sheesh. She woke up to a princess cup and barbie cereal, opened up her Disney princess figurines and was in heaven in church because of them, came home and played and then had family over and cake and more presents and ice cream and candy and then she fell asleep on mama's lap. I love that little Brynn. Happy Birthday Brynn-a-lynn-a-loo!

Jared and Da Boys...

We walked up to Bridal Veil Falls with the Hartmans and took this great picture just before we left. Can you tell which boys are the Hartleys? Which of these boys is not like the other... tee hee.

Brynn's reaction to Bennett's accomplishment!

Bennett Teaches Himself How to Ride a "Two-wheeler"!

Bennett asked me to take off the training wheels on Saturday and I've never seen him work so hard at something! He just kept going and going until he had it! SO CUTE! What a stud.

Extra Protection

Okay, so Bennett's cousin Ammon was wearing two pair of underwear one day and when we asked him why, he said it was because then if he peed a little, he would still have another pair of underwear so he would save himself the trouble of changing. (I guess he doesn't have very wet pee! tee hee.) So Bennett heard him tell this story and for the next few days wore two pair of underwear until just last week he was putting his pajamas on and .... THREE pair of underwear! We had to take a picture - that really can't be comfortable!

Sand Dunes 2!

Some more pix of climbing trees, four-wheeling, eating cheetos, hanging out in the trailer, (Thanks Tim and Nate!) and having fun! This was before the wind and the sand storms started! The kids all had about an inch of sand in their hair - not to mention underwear! Eeek.

Sand Dunes!

We went to the Little Sahara over Spring Break. The kids had a ball on all these four wheelers! It was really sandy (weird, huh?) and Jaron got a sand moustache! We had a blast!

Easter - better late than never!

Just some pix of the Easter egg hunt and Brynn's cute Easter dress (even though this wasn't on Easter). We had tons of fun at G&G Bunderson's house for the hunt! The kids got money in their eggs! Whoa.

Monday, April 7, 2008

I just had to put this picture on here even though it's from 2 Easters ago because it's so darn cute! I didn't get a picture of Brynn this Easter because we were late for church and she had a nosebleed in nursery so she bled all over her new white Easter dress. Sigh... But this one makes up for it!

Relaxation...

The cuteness of sleeping toddlers is hard to match! Especially my daughter! tee hee. Doesn't it just make you want to take a deep breath and sigh? So, sit back, take a deep breath and enjoy life. As A.A .Milne says, “Rivers know this: there is no hurry. We shall get there some day.”

I was coming to the computer to do something "really important"... and then I forgot what it was so I'm feeling a little Pooh-ish...

"I don't see much sense in that," said Rabbit.
"No," said Pooh humbly, "there isn't. But there was going to be when I began it. It's just that something happened to it along the way."

Winnie the Pooh

I feel this way a little too often it seems... sigh.

Friday, March 7, 2008

"Good morning, Eeyore," said Pooh.
"Good morning, Pooh Bear," said Eeyore gloomily. "If it is a good morning, which I doubt," said he.
"Why, what's the matter?"
"Nothing, Pooh Bear, nothing. We can't all, and some of us don't. That's all there is to it."
"Can't all what?" said Pooh, rubbing his nose.
"Gaiety. Song-and-dance. Here we go round the mulberry bush."
Winnie the Pooh

Somedays, no matter how much candy we have in our bags, life seems gloomy. But this quote actually makes me smile and feel warm inside. It reminds me of a really good friend, Mike Nelson, who passed away several years ago. He LOVED Winnie-the-Pooh and helped me love it and life too. Although Eeyore is gloomy, he sees the silver linings... One more Eeyore quote:

"It's snowing still," said Eeyore gloomily.
"So it is."
"And freezing."
"Is it?"
"Yes," said Eeyore. "However," he said, brightening up a little, "we haven't had an earthquake lately."

The Ultimate Optimist

The ultimate optimist: "I don't see why some people are so pessimistic. Everyone calls them 'stop signs', but I call them go signs. I mean, sure you have to stop, but don't forget that later you get to go!"

Brynn at the Kangaroo Zoo. She finally decided that all these big, colorful bouncy things were fun and actually started to play. Once that happened, there was no stopping her. She loves it!

Bennett & Carter for Carter's 5th birthday! They didn't need any convincing - this was always fun for them!

Okay, so I'm trying to catch up on some blogging stuff. Our house has been the quarantine household for the last month. From 5ths disease to the stomach flu to the full blown "virus that is like the flu but must not be the flu because the flu shot didn't work" flu, we've been really sick. But finally I think we're getting over it. I'm very excited for spring to come - more so than usual. Anyway, life is good. Chris is back from his business trip and everyone's happy! Especially me! I guess that's all I have to say so... happy days!

Snowmobiling at the cabin!

The rhino itself...

Being pulled behind the Rhino is so much fun! Jaron & Emma had a blast!

Bennett & Ammon being pulled behind. Look at those smiles!

Christmas at the Hartleys... Brynn was in heaven with her Bama and Bampa.

Some catch up pix...

Our beautiful fairy princess... girls are such fun!
